Roger Alexander Fonnegra

Mr. Fonnegra received his primary dance training at the Caracas Ballet School of Teresa Carreno joining the National Ballet of Caracas as an apprentice. He traveled to the US on a government scholarship to train with Whilhelm Burmann and on full scholarship at the School of American Ballet. In 1998, he returned to his native Venezuela where he danced with the Ballet National of Caracas accompanying them on an international tour. In 2003, he joined Columbia Classical Ballet and has appeared as a guest artist with the Ballet Camara of Caracas and Seiskaya Ballet. Favorite ballets/roles include Balanchine's Rubies and Allegro Brillante, Antony Tudor's The Leaves are Fading, Agnes de Mille's Rodeo, Colleen Cavanaugh's Glass House, and Viktor Plotnikov’s La Camorra; he also married fellow company dancer Lauren Menger. This is Mr. Fonnegra's sixth season with FBP.
