This five-session program uses creative movement techniques to develop coordination skills, spatial awareness, musical appreciation, body awareness, balance, listening skills, attention and focus, directional skills, and most importantly, the joy of movement through creative expression and age-appropriate physical exercises.
This weekly class is a fun introductory approach to ballet. Students will be involved in a typical ballet class where they learn the fundamental exercises, explore movement and rhythm, and begin to develop a basic technique.
Using a live performance of Festival Ballet Providence (FBP) as the catalyst, FBP staff works with the classroom teacher to engage students about Ballet as a performing art. FBP educates viewers about the history of ballet, physical training and discipline as a professional ballet dancer, the language of dance, as well as character and plot development through the creation of choreography. Members of FBP’s professional dance company travel to your school to demonstrate technique and assist students in the development of dance vocabulary.
This custom-designed program Integrates movement, academic subject matter and choreography to enhance academic learning and develop an appreciation for the arts. Festival Ballet Providence (FBP) uses movement, rhythm and expression to deliver academic content and solidify understanding of the material through the development and presentation of student-created choreography.
