Boyko Dossev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. He studied classical ballet at The National School of Dance Art where he was a student of Bisser Deyanov. He went on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Ballet Teaching and received his Masters Degree in Choreography at The National Conservatory “Professor Pancho Vladigerov”.
Dossev has been a dancer with Boston Ballet since 2006. Previously, he was with Hamburg Ballet-John Neumeier and Dresden State Ballet-Semperoper Dresden. His repertory includes the works of such choreographers as J.Cranko, J. Neumeier, J.Kylian, A. Bournonville, G. Balanchine, O. Vinogradov and many others. Renowned teachers include I. Jacobson, I. Kolpakova, V. Semenov and L. Riggins.
His choreography credits include works created for Semperoper Dresden, Hamburg Ballet, Festival Ballet Providence, Boston Ballet, Boston Ballet School and Harvard University Dance Company. As a teacher, Mr. Dossev has taught at Boston Ballet School and in Toulouse, France.
Awards he has received include gold medals from The National Ballet Competition and Varna International Ballet Competition 2002. He has also appeared in numerous gala performances including “The Mega Gala Meeting of The Generations” in Varna International Ballet Competition 2008.
