September 21st Spanish Wine Tasting Event celebrates the Premiere of Carmen

Providence, RI - The Festival Ballet Providence Board of Trustees announces a Spanish Wine tasting event from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday September 21, 2003 to celebrate the Company’s 2003/2004 season opener, Carmen.

East Greenwich residents Marie Weiss, Joyce DiNobile and Ann Marie Gildea have been key members of the event’s planning committee, putting together a Spanish-themed evening to support Festival Ballet Providence’s world premiere by Viktor Plotnikov. Central to the festivities are a wonderful sampling of impressive Spanish wines donated by a number of the area’s wine specialty stores.

To date, East Greenwich’s Thorpe’s Wine and Spirits, Providence’s Swan Liquor, and Wakefield Liquors have joined the party by generously donating a case of wine to the event. East Providence’s Town Wine & Spirits has donated special bottles of wine as Silent Auction items to be sent home with the highest bidders.

This is an opportunity to meet the Company dancers, sip delicious wine, enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, tour the Festival Ballet Providence studios and support the exciting premiere of Carmen.

The Spanish wine-tasting event will take place at the Festival Ballet Providence Center for Dance Education, 825 Hope Street, Providence, Rhode Island. There is a $75 per person admission fee, $50 of which is a donation to Festival Ballet Providence. To reserve your place for this event, please contact Festival Ballet Providence, at 401.353.1129.
