Festival Ballet Providence May Day Fiesta May 1st!

Providence, RI - On May 1st, 2004, the Festival Ballet Providence Board of Trustees marks the end of its 26th Season with a May Day Fiesta to celebrate its extremely successful new Up CLOSE on HOPE series.

Up CLOSE on HOPE, a new program of repertory performances by Festival Ballet Providence, sold out all 7 of its performances, and delighted audiences with intimate, refreshing contemporary dance by young, vibrant choreographers.

The public is invited to get really Up CLOSE on HOPE, for cocktails, tapas, dining, dancing, performance and live auction and more. The event’s food will be prepared and served by Morin’s Fine Catering. Lively dance music with a Latin and Brazilian flavor will be provided by Dan Moretti and Brazilia al fresco under a huge tent.

May Day Fiesta revelers will also be treated at the outset of the evening to an intimate performance of highlights from the company’s 26th season, including selections from the best of the season and a special guest appearance in our newly created black box theatre.

A limited live auction includes a magnificent hand-carved four-poster “Sleeping Beauty” bed created for Festival Ballet Providence by Leonards New England valued at over $9,000.

The event takes place Saturday May 1st at Festival Ballet Providence’s stunning facility at 825 Hope Street, on the East Side of Providence, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, (and on).
