Festival Ballet Providence Center for Dance Education Fall Classes begin September 7th, 2004, Ongoing Registration
Providence, RI - The Festival Ballet Providence Center for Dance Education, the official school of Festival Ballet Providence, is now accepting ongoing registration for fall classes. The FBP Center for Dance Education will also hold an open house Wednesday August 25th & Thursday August 26th for fall class pre-registration at the Dance Center’s 825 Hope Street location. Open House hours are 10:00 am to noon and 3:00 to 7:00 pm each day. Each day there will also be several classes available for observation, as well as tours of the facility.
The Festival Ballet Providence Center for Dance Education offers a comprehensive dance program for children and adults, for recreational, pre-professional and professional dancers. Classes begin September 7th, and are offered in four 9-week terms during the academic year. The staff offers seventy-five (75) classes a week, one of the state’s largest dance education programs. The Young Children’s Program is designed specially for children aged 3 to 7 years old, and the Core Dance Program focuses on the needs of students aged 8 to adults.
In addition to the Core Dance Program’s ballet classes in Ballet Technique, Pointe, Variations and Partnering, the school also offers a wealth of enrichment classes including Creative Movement, Pre Ballet, Boys Ballet Class, Jazz, Character, Stretch, Modern, Pilates mat classes, Yoga and the Festival Ballet Workout. Classes take place in the Dance Center’s three state-of-the art studios Monday through Saturday throughout the day. Classes are conducted at many levels, from beginner to advanced, and are open to all members of the community.
The Festival Ballet Providence Center for Dance Education provides a positive environment for dance students to flourish to their fullest potential. Class size is limited to afford maximum attention to each student. The professional faculty members bring to their teaching extensive performing careers both nationally and internationally, as well as a strong commitment to pass on their acquired knowledge and experience to the new generation of dancers. Students are also exposed to Festival Ballet Providence’s professional Company and pre-professional Junior Company, who serve as exemplary role models for the younger dancers.
At the end of the academic year, students age 6 and over have the option to perform in a fully staged evening repertory performance at Rhode Island College’s Roberts Auditorium. It is always a wonderful opportunity to see the growth of the children as artists on stage.
The Festival Ballet Providence Center for Dance education has expanded since opening it’s expanded facility on Hope Street in 2001 to over 450 registered students. The increased number of students matriculating to the school has caused a number of classes to fill before classes begin. Early registration is highly recommended to avoid the disappointment of being closed out of a class.
