Summerdance Intensive Video Audition Deadline March 12, 2004

Providence, RI - Festival Ballet Providence Artistic Director Mihailo Djuric and school director Mary Ann Mayer announce auditions by video for Festival Ballet Providence’s 4-week Summerdance Intensive program beginning July 12, 2004.

Festival Ballet’s Summerdance Intensive is a comprehensive training program designed for serious dance students, with a challenging roster of classes, professional faculty, personalized instruction, in a fun and supportive environment, running from July 12 to August 6, 2004. The intensive can be taken for 2 weeks, 3 weeks or for 4 weeks (during July 12 - August 6, 2004).

Intensive classes generally run from 9:45 am to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Classes include daily ballet technique class, followed by any of the following: Pointe, Variations, Repertoire, Character, Jazz, Modern, Stage Make-up and Pilates. The intensive is open to students 12 years old and up, with a minimum of 1 year on pointe.

The international faculty will include: Mihailo Djuric (Faculty Chairman), Vera Kurmasheva, Tomislav Vokovic, Audrey Monahan, Ann Morsilli, Mary Ann Mayer, Viktor Plotnikov, Larissa Ponamarenko and other guest instructors to be announced.

All classes take place in Festival Ballet Providence’s three state-of-the-art sprung-floor studios, 825 Hope Street in historic Providence, Rhode Island. Chaperoned dormitory housing with transportation is available for out of state students with full boarding.

To audition by video, please call Festival Ballet Providence and request a Video Audition Packet. The video audition fee is $25. Video Auditions are due by March 12, 2004.
