Meet the Dancers: Kirsten Evans

Shortly after we taped this interview, Kirsten was promoted from Apprentice to Company Dancer. We are very proud of her and wish her the best of luck in her new position!

From Massachusetts, Kirsten performed as a member of Festival Ballet’s Junior Company for 5 years before joining the company as a trainee in 2010. Ms. Evans has trained with Mihailo Djuric, Cosmin Marculetiu, Viktor Plotnikov, Yves de Boutillier, Valentina Kozlova, Anna Maria Holmes, Adam Sklute and Vera Kurmasheva. She has also trained with the Nutmeg Conservatory, Bolshoi Ballet Academy and was a member of Jacob’s Pillow Summer Dance Festival in 2009. Ms. Evans was a two time finalist in the Youth American Grand Prix Compeition in New York City, where she was awarded a scholarship and traineeship with Ballet West in Utah. Previous roles with Festival Ballet include Pas de Trois and Cygnets in Swan Lake, Willi in Giselle, Factory Girl in Viktor Plotnikov’s Carmen, Clara, Lead Snowflake, Lead Flower, and Marzipan in The Nutcracker, and Witch in Plotnikov’s The Widow’s Broom. Kirsten also attends Providence College part time. This is Ms. Evans’ third season with the company.
