We had a blast today meeting Remi and Megan, who just arrived from Amsterdam yesterday. They rehearsed both pas de deux they will be performing at Together We Dance 3 on Thursday at The Vets – Romeo and Juliet (Balcony pas de deux) and Don Quixote (Grande pas de deux). And they were spectacular!
Dutch National Ballet
Remi Wörtmeyer (originally from Australia) is one of the leading principal dancers in Europe; Dance Europe proclaimed Mr. Wörtmeyer fifteenth in a critical list of the world’s leading 100 dancers. Earlier in September, Mr. Wörtmeyer was awarded the Alexandra Radius prize, the top decoration for classical ballet in the Netherlands.
joined the Dutch National Ballet in 2010 as a grand sujet and was promoted to soloist the following year. He was promoted to principal dancer in January, 2013. He trained at the Australian Ballet School and went on to dance with The Australian Ballet in Melbourne and with American Ballet Theatre in New York for a year. He won the Walter Burke Award in 2005 and silver at the 8th Asian Pacific International Ballet Competition in 2001.
