What happens when a witch is separated from her broom?

Just in time for Halloween, the delightfully spooky story by Chris Van Allsburg, designed by Tony Award-winner Eugene Lee, with choreography by Viktor Plotnikov and a pulsing, haunting score by Aleksandra Vrebalov, returns to the stage. When a witch's worn-out broom is left behind in a lonely widow's garden, it becomes part of the family to the growing distrust of her neighbors. Burning passion is met with clever deception as the haunting story unfolds before your eyes.

An uplifting evening of dance from a refreshingly intimate perspective

On the cusp of his twentieth year as the visionary leader of Festival Ballet Providence, Mihailo Djuric's beloved Magnificat returns to the stage. Set to J. S. Bach's vibrant and joyful cantata, the ensemble work is made up of contrasting movements with a contemporary style inspired by Balkan folk elements.

The mixed repertory program features world premiere works by Mary Ellen Beaudreau and others.

Commissioned in 2016 and created specifically for the Black Box Theatre, Gianni Di Marco's one-act Lady of the Camellias received resounding acclaim from critics and audiences alike. The powerful ballet tells the story of Marguerite Gautier whose illicit romance unravels into betrayal, while a debilitating illness consumes her.

The mixed repertory program will also feature world premiere works by local arts leader and choreographer yon Tande and Boston-based choreographer Kurt Douglas.
